A group of Chinese tourists visiting Nusa Penida Island suffered injuries when their vehicle suffered a flat tire, ran off the road, struck a roadside rock, and rolled over on Friday, April 14, 2017.
The accident near the Village of Buga Mekar left 4 tourists and the driver of the Suzuki APV injured and requiring medical treatment at Bali’s Sanglah General Hospital.
NusaBali identified the injured tourists as Li Cing, (28), Haring Wei (29) Li Chung Hu (27) and Liau Suching (23). The driver of the vehicle, also injured in the mishap, was I Ketut Cinta (40) of Nusa Penida.
The driver suffered a broken right arm, while Li Cing a broken rib and wounds to the head and hands. The remaining 3 tourist’s injuries were relatively minor in nature.
Local villagers on Nusa Penida assisted in evacuating the driver and passengers and placing them on a boat back to the mainland for medical treatment.
The group was on a day outing from the mainland that left Sanur Beach earlier the same morning.
